There's an add-on for garrysmod that adds some new NPCs, including a few Fire-Warriors, complete with sounds.

For a commando you can use the XV15 stealth suits


According to this There's also a pulse pistol which may flesh out the armory a bit.

I think a markerlight would also be interesting, the premise of it is pulled off well in the pelian-army mod.

To go much farther than that would definitely mean to make a battlesuit, which i imagine would be more difficult than making a firewarrior.

Judging from your screenshot, the actors legs are very very short, even for CC, and I distinctly remember Tau being quite leggy. I think your head is too big as well, this seems to be a problem you often have.

Make the head smaller and the legs bigger. then it will be awesome.

The Tau have the largest model that Forge World stocks, the Tau Manta - it weighs 28 pounds irl +an insane amount of troops.... these are plastic by the way. So for transports the only real option is the Ocha Dropship as shown before. Though you could go off a bit and make a devilfish with actor emmitters to simulate it being hard to see.... But i bet alot of people would get annoyed...
Also, the head looks odd to me as well, not just because of its size - play around with it a little...

Complete list of tau weapons by category.

Fire warrior and/or pathfinders:
Pulse Rifle, Pulse Carbine, Rail Rifle, Pulse pistol, Marker-light.

Kroot:
Kroot rifle, or Pulse rifle.

Krootox Riders:
Kroot Gun (a kroot rifle that has very similar stats to the rail rifle)

Drones:
Pulse carbine (twin linked), Marker-light linked to a single pulse carbine as if it where twin linked (Fires markerlight and one carbine), Rail Riffle

Stealth suits:
Burst Cannon, Fusion blaster (first unit other than drones with a jump pack)

Crisis suits:
Burst cannon, Fusion blaster, Flamer, plasma Rifle, Missile Pod,

Crisis suit: special issue
Cyclic Ion Blaster, Air-bursting fragmentation launcher, Double-barreled plasma rifle (Shas O Rymar, in imperial armor), Twin Linked Fusion Blasters (Shadowsun), thats sword farsight gets.

Broad-side:
Twin Linked Rail guns (Solid shot only), Smart missile system (ignores cover, IE Homing & tracking)


Vehichles

Devilfish/hammerheads/skyray Mounts in front:

2 gundrones, Or 2 burstcannons (not twin linked) or Smart missile system.
Central slot contains either a burst cannon or a networked markerlight.

Hammerhead:
Rail gun (Single shot OR submunitions can be fired, SM is a template), Ion Cannon (also template)

Skyray :
Sky ray missile defense system (lots of seeker missiles), Sky ray Anti Air defense platform (See, imperial armour)

Other stuff from imperial armour

Heavy Gun drones:
Twin linked burst cannons, or single burst cannon and double-ranged long barrel markerlight

Drone Sentry turrets:
Twin linked burst cannons, Twin linked Plasma rifles, Twin linked fusion blasters, Twin linked missile pods.

Area Denial node (one of the chapter approved had it)
Twin linked long barreled railgun (150% range, could fire solid shot or submunitions)

Remora: (weakest flyer, stealth, its a winged heavy gun drone)
2 burst cannons (not twin linked) 2 seeker missiles, double range markerlight, multi-tracker


OTHER CRAP THAT I CANT REMBER THE NAMES OF AND AM TO LAZY TO DIG UP.

Heavy Rail Cannon (range 144, S 10 AP 1, Ord, Titankiller)
Heavy Ion cannon (Same as ion cannon, but +2 Strength, and double range)
Heavy Burst cannon (Double range, S 7 AP 3? 2? basically a rail rifle burst cannon)



And thats all I remember.

How would shield drones be work? They should emit a decent radius shield and draw fire....
Though sniper drones would be awesome. I doubt this is possible but: One actor comprised of drone controller + drones. Drones attack, etc. and are limbs. The controller is the torso, so if he dies the drones die.

Looks like Miles just listed out almost everything in the Tau army. But that might not be too hard to make, I mean, for e.g. Fire Warrior, Fire Warrior Leader and Pathfinder are just the same guy with different attachable armors; Broadside=Crisis Suit with heavy weapons pre-equipt. The only thing that's troublesome is to make all that pile of guns and balance them.

One question: are the regular warriors and the Broadside going to have jetpack? If not, then they'd be crippled quite badly. I suggest giving them weak jets for movement, and give stronger jets for prolonged flight for the stealth suits.

Also, is anyone craving for an XV-11 Experimental Stealth like me? WDIT: I meant XV22, cough.

Oh crap . I need to make head smaller and legs longer . That will be a real problem for me . Thanks everybody for information but i need pics of weapons . Without pics of weapons i cant make anything so much tau-ish .
