Post Improved textures / new bits
<screens removed, topic is obsolete>

Hi peeps,

I was wondering if anyone can help me out with some textures, mainly the snow and moon ones. (See below.)
I am looking for better ice/snow ones since these look awkward, and the moon textures are basically the standard textures, only greyed out. :)

Does anyone have some lying around that he/she doesn't use and/or would allow me to use? I'll give you credit ofcourse.

I also wonder what you think about the extra bunker bits below.
<removed>

I'll also post some other screenies of what I have been up to.

The city maps will probably be fun to make a bunker in. Bunker pieces align with the edges of the map. One of the moon map has the same idea for two spots.

Probably because you responded at lightning speed. :grin:

When these will be out... I think within the next couple of days or next weekend, depending if I am going to put some bunkers in them. But I might release them without any bunker bits. Don't know yet. :)

:o Sweet! Can't wait for these to be out, i would vote for no bunkers IN them, but make them come with the modules.

The city doesn't look that good, but a city is an interesting concept.

The others are nice.

It looks nice. Really good. Maybe make a meteor spawn every minute for the moon and snow (OHNO UNORIGINALITY) for the snowy place.

They look alright to me... :???: The snow textures remind me of the Worms games, though the blue ice (sand?) does look a bit odd.

Aside from the city, lovely backgrounds. The city one is ok... it just seems a bit stale and flat.

The bricks in the city seem a bit bright. I'd make them dirtier, if that can be achieved without an ugly repeating texture.

Some of the other city props also look kinda strange, some seem to have a glow around them. They should look nicer if the edges are... hardened, I suppose.

Maybe make the city background multiple skylines, so it has a 3D effect.

For the brick texture, I suggest that you should darken it a bit, add a little of noise effect and up the contrast just a tad.

Besides that: WOW!

I like the BG. It's surreal and icy feeling.

wow these are cool
I love the "danger tiles" crates and the smaller barrier.
hedges and barbed wire also get my approval.
A 3d city skyline would definitely be awesome and I would totally love it.
Also, for the Ice map, the background is good, but are there really rocks in snow...?
I suggest maybe an Ice chunk, less dirty rocks, or just not using them on this map.
Similarly, why is there gold in the snow? If it's possible, can you just make it place the terrain debris in specific terrains, like in only tough dirt, or topsoil?

@Aspect: I thought about the rocks too, but left them in for now. I can't make sprites/backgrounds purely on my own so there won't be icey rocks. Might leave it out, who knows.
The gold, well, that just needs to be there for game balancing stuff. :)

I think I'll be busy with these a while longer and will also add a surprise level. I also want more objects in them.
Don't be disappointed if something's not to your liking though. I'll do my best on these but everything you think should be changed you probably need to change yourself. :)
I can't please everyone, and trying to seems exceptionally hard in this community; more than any other I've been in. :roll:

Also, I like to point out that I should not get credit me for the textures, since I mostly look up freebies on the net and adapt/change them to be used in this game.
I suck at making anything from the ground up, apart from smaller things/objects. :wink:
